Three Great Reasons To SMILE

Live Laugh Love

This is what having a girl is all about !!!!

I love painting her finger & toenails, the best is that she loves it too.She sits so quite and still until they are all done,AmAzIng !! Then she spends the rest of the day showing them to everyone who will give her the time, and that is everyone.

I just wanted to show you how cute Eme's little toddler bed is

***notice the three babies in the baby bed

Anytime we go to the store Eme wants a baby most of the time we try to distract her and run the opposite direction of any dolls. However, if you have ever met Eme you understand, she is just so darn cute it is hard not to spoil her.

These are her favorites, so they get the bed.

She makes me smile !!

Speaking of smiling

Jaxson hasn't missed a beat from school to home

He is actually doing great and learning how to learn himself ( this is the key)

Anyone interested in reading more about homeschooling check out this book

A Thomas Jefferson Education by Oliver DeMille

I really want my children to be educated the way that Thomas Jefferson was, that is really all I am going to say about that. It is just a personal decision.

Here he is 5yrs old writing words ( in cursive) that he has read from index cards I put together

He just gets them out and writes and reads them

The Montessori school uses a writing to reading program, we are just continuing this at home.

So far so good
He makes me smile !!

Okay something amazing happened

Liam had a rhino exactly like the one pictured above, that he loved. We left it at the park about one year ago we went back to recover it & nothing

This caused many sleepless nights until we bought the tiger pictured above.

Here comes the miracle

My brother Joseph found this rhino at a school exchange thing INCREDIBLE it is exactly like the one we used to have ( i am still looking for the pictures of him with it before). When Joseph gave it to Liam you should have seen his face, he totally remembered it.

The only thing is now we have both the lion and rhino with us all the time, maybe he will grow out of this.

He makes me smile !!

Montessori Style

“Let us start with one very simple reflection: the child, unlike the adult, is not on his way to death. He is on his way to life. His work is to fashion a man in the fullness of his strength.”
Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind

So, I think I finally have things running smoothly

Here Liam is mopping the floor, I didn't even ask

he decided that after Jaxson finished (who I didn't ask to do it either)he would give it a shot

“So the whole life of the child is an advance toward perfection, toward a greater completeness. From this we may infer that the child will enjoy doing the work needed to complete himself.”
Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind

“More important than technique is the acquisition of a special personality suited to work. This makes it a man’s own ideal. It becomes his goal in life.”
Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind

( I bought a mop and broom from the dollar store then cut off some of the length, and there it is in action)

The attitude that children thrive upon is one that communicates, (“ You’re basically a lovable, capable person.”)”
How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk

Genuine happiness comes as a direct result of one own self sufficiency

The kids usually help me fold and put the clothes away, this time I got the basket out & went to check on Eme in the bath and I came back to it almost complete !! Amazing!!

“Nature always sees to it that the child is protected. He is born of love and love is his natural origin.”

Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind

When I went to check on Eme in the bath who had been crying ( she wanted to play/ not bathe) this is what I found

Liam has been doing this for the last couple weeks. He gets a collection of books and reads to her while she bathes.
SO CUTE!!

Craft Time

I got tired of trying to explain how close Halloween was so

the boyz made chains today

Hopefully this will hold them for one more week!!

“It cannot be forced; it must be won. Proper behavior must be stimulated, not demanded.”
Children the Challenge

Some days are just good, others maybe not

Today is one of the good ones

We went on to do phonograms, reading, journals, writing (Jaxson & Liam)

and Eme, well she learned to clean up after herself

the mess the clean-up

yes, those are little elastics

She decided to get into the hair stuff instead of morning nap, WOW

The passage from nothing to the complex body of the fully grown individual is one of the constant miracles of life. If we are not struck by the greatness of this miracle, it can only be for one reason, that it occurs so often under our eyes in the experience of everyday life.”
The Absorbent Mind

pErSONaLitY

I took this personality test one of my friends had up on her site I was suprised(but not because it is wrong)

below are my results

You Are An ENFJ

The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud

This is kinda cool, Try it

You Are A Green Girl

You feel most at home in a world of ideas.
You're curious and logical - and enjoy a good intellectual challenge.
You're super cool, calm, and collected. Very little tries your patience.
Your only fear? People not realizing how smart and able you are!
This is kinda cool, Try it

Costume Clue's

Let's see if you can guess the kids costumes
using the quotes provided
Jaxson's said:
"A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues"
"A man who is good enough to shed his blood for the country is good enough to be given a square deal afterwards"
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."
"Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. "
Liam's said:
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."
"Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character."
"The eternal mystery of the world is its comprehensibility."
"A person starts to live when he can live outside himself."
"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education"
And Eme................. well Eme is going to be a fairy princess if you have any great quotes that fairy princess's have said please forward

The Price

So It has happened, yet again
I CANNOT EAT CHOCOLATE
without
heartburn
headache
& insomnia
about this time of my pregnancy this happens
the trouble is I LOVE chocolate and all the holidays are just around the bend
i am having so much trouble believing it that i still try it out almost every day,
just to make sure its still a problem
Angelo finally said to me last night:
"STOP eating chocolate you know that is what is doing this to you"
I imagine I will still try it out a couple of times this Holiday season, JuSt tO MaKe SuRE!

Friday Night Haircuts

I try to touch up the kids haircuts on Friday's
just makes their hair look clean for Sunday

This week Eme got a little flapper bang
she was having difficulty keeping her hair out of her face
(she always takes whatever clip or bow I put in it out within 5 minutes of placement)
This haircut is so cute, I love it
as if she needed to look an more angelic

The Boyz have been enjoying what we all call the Beckham haircut

The nice thing is it always looks clean and well kept
great for little boyz

So dapper

What Have We Been Doing

Well after much consideration & for many reasons
I am no longer teaching at the Montessori School.
I miss it a little
but especially after conference I thought it best to be at home teaching my own children.

It is so great to be home ALL day with my kids
they are happy to be home and I know enough now to continue there education from home.
( a much better use of my time)

So here are some things we have been doing the past 2 weeks

The boyz have been little architects
they come up with this stuff, cool huh

Making and playing with playdough

( a note: i forgot i didn't have any white flour, well i think it turned out alright with the wheat flour organic looking huh)

You may not find anything crazy exciting about this minute of our day, however
watch again think about how often 3 children play together this quietly
Nice Right

Although I know it is the right thing for me to be at home it doesn't mean it is easier

I love being at home

I have begun a couple of new traditions which have made our time at home all the better
one of which is:

I now read at least one chapter of a classic book to the boys before nap time & again before bedtime
in less than 2 weeks we have finished 2 great classic books
Little Lord Fauntleroy
&
Understood Betsy

I love that my children are being exposed to such wonderful language

Ultrasound & Big sigh of relief

We had our feared ultrasound

MY PLACENTA MOVED UP AWAY FROM MY CERVIX
HOORAY
we all took a big breath of relief
We still are going to be suprised, we did sooooo good at the ultrasound and turned our heads ( no cheating)
The baby is healthy and is definatley a BOY or a GIRL
I uploaded a little of the video so you can see our little miracle

Jaxson turns 5

Jaxsons Big Day

was crazy busy

it started with all the normal stuff; family eating cake for breakfast, singing, & presents

next school
where he did his walk around the sun, so cool

all the kids sit around the "sun" (the yellow circle) and mom brings a poster of each trip around the sun he has made in this case 5 he is starting his sixth, we talk about each year and show pictures then he takes the "earth" (the globe) on its orbit around the sun as the children sing the earth goes around the sun it takes 12 month 52 week 365 days if this doesn't make sense trust me it is really cool and helps the kids get an understanding of what a year means

next his teacher and mother tell him what they like about him I CRIED LIKE A BABY but so did Miss Ali

next we were off to MCDonalds to celebrate with the Dial crew
( they got grills in the birthday bags )

next a big soccer big soccer game ** we lost big ** oh well no one really knows or cares at this age especially the kids

finally CHUCK E CHEESE with Grandma , Grandpa & the tios
YIKES it was crazy notice how tired the B-day boy is

Baby ?

Do you know what you are having, a boy or girl?

This is a question I have been hearing alot lately, so I would like to clear it up with at least all those who read this little blog.

We are not going to find out. In our last ultrasound the tech almost blabbed, luckily we caught her before she said it.

We are hoping that this will continue to be possible as it looks like we are going to have lots of ultrasounds with this one. I have been diagnosed with partial placenta previa, this just means the placenta is partially covering the cervix. Because the placenta is so vascular and it is sitting partially over and opening( cervix) I have had lots of bleeding, but only one ER visit so far.

The Hope:

My placenta will move upward with my growing uterus

My placenta will stay firmly attached even if it doesn't move

The Worry:

C-section ( unavoidable if placenta stays in current position)

Abruption

Hospitalized bed rest in the last weeks
We are hoping and praying the placenta moves up and we will have another ultrasound on September 20th then we should have an idea what the rest of the pregnancy holds.

Lavendar Day's

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We went to Young Living Farms the other weekend for Lavender Day's

it was a blast there were many activities for the kids; pony rides, rock climbing, inflatable slides, peddle boat, and much more.

The best part of the whole day is that the air all around the lavender fields smells of lavender. It was so enjoyable simply because of the fragrant air.

We had a great day!
