This morning we had a guest

I could do little to draw these little ones to the table

they spent a good 15 minutes

just watching this curious creature

the squirrel by the way was not scared at all

even when the boss started to bang on the glass

after he was sure we weren't going to invite him in

he took to posing for us on the fence

he did multiple poses

for the next about 5 minutes

A funny thing happened the other day..........

Jaxson was saying the prayer over dinner it went something like this:

"bless that we can have a good day today, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day, and the next, and the one after that"

I am not even exaggerating.....not even a little.. in fact...i'm not sure i got enough days in there

by the end

the Mr. & I were almost rolling on the floor

we somehow composed ourselves enough not to

make our first born feel he had done something wrong

his prayer was in earnest

a few questions i have for myself after watching these video's

when did i stop using bibs ?

when did i stop using plates ?

why aren't i teaching my child to eat with a fork or spoon?

when did "sitting" become optional?

when i had 4 children under 6 years old

is this answer valid.....um i don't know but it seems to be the why

in any case my children as you can tell have a GRAND time at the family dinner table

so when the wives complain to me in 20 years.....i guess i'll just LAUGH

Halloween HIT my home

who flew in with a couple of halloween decorations in toe

i was having emotional goodbyes..& friend reunions yesterday

so

without further

adieu

a funny thing happened the other day.....

we had the need for some MC Donalds

fries

so we ( the entire clan, grandma, uncles, and the rest)

went thru the drive thru in DT SEattLE

Jaxson was being particularly ......well lets just say

NO NAP..LATE BED TIMES..OVERSTIMULATED..LOTS of SWEETS

i asked him over and over to stay in his seat belt

then finally i said

okay no treat from Mickey D's for you

so i order ( of course i ordered something for him )

and pulled around

as I paid the young man asked

"do you need anything else"

then

from the far back of the car we hear

" SHE HAS ANOTHER KID IN HERE SHE ISN'T GOING TO FEED !!!"

i wasn't embarrassed....nope i was too tired for that

my mom either

we just giggled ourselves to the point of TEARS

yes we laughed until the tears where streaming.....so much so that we couldn't even put two words together for the next MC employee

we headed over to the San Juan islands
which as it turns out was a wonderfully long ferry ride

the Mr. has been teaching the boyz

they really get into it

and it really gets them out of the kitchen whilst I prepare our Sunday Meal

unfortunately the boss isn't occupied so easily nor

does he under stand WHY

i cannot have children in the kitchen while I cook

so he just crumples up the freshly folded kitchen linens during dinner prep

he was tickeled with himself for finding such a sweet treat

he spent the rest of the cooking hour licking it off the floor

then Emme got into the chocolate cake I made

finally dinner was done

"MOM this chicken doesn't taste like chicken"

(yup, they just figured out the difference between tofu & chicken)

Monday Funnies

Angelo was in a meeting with this big wig from corporate, and the guy kept calling him Antonio

( i know what your thinking-his smoldering good looks reminded the man of Mr. Banderas)

No matter how many times he was corrected he still called him Antonio, so in another meeting before it started the women came and asked Angelo if his name was really Antonio.

this is not the end to his Name woe's he has been having trouble on the phones

the guy's on the other end get stuck on his name and don't listen to the rest of what he is saying

so

the other night

he was trying to come up with

except it is hard to find one that he can say clearly...that we like

and the list goes on

i guess he will just have to work on pronouncing his given name

1. if given the choice between dessert & dinner --i would rather dessert than dinner, I know I know i seem like the healthy type and I am I just really dig dessert

a bloody begining to October

it's 1:15 am

the Mr & I had been dreaming of

well....we were in dreamland

when

a knock

at the door to our room

awakened and heightened the senses

then a LOUD BANGING

MOM---OPEN THE DOOR

i open the door to find

covered

and dripping BlOOD

from the

NOSE

down

Why wasn't I horrified

because I realized it is about

that time---yep it's been awhile since our last

bloody nose fiasco

the MR. and I got to work

the Patient was the least of the worries

bloody nose night comes once a month

(at least)

the child

with the nose disorder

seems to think he should travel

throughout our home

before

getting the blood stopped

which means.......

i digress

so.. we clean the the patients

nose--the blood stops

he says

"MOM, i'm tired , I'm goin' to bed"

"okay sweet heart, I love you"

which means

the Mr. and I will now spend an hour

(at least)

cleaning blood drops

the red nosed babe left for us

he peeks out from his room

"hey mom, I turned around a few times by your door"

"yeah right there"

"K goodnight"

after cleaning the result from his late night

blood nosed frolic

I go in to kiss him

( mainly to make sure the blood hasn't returned--because worse than nose bleed night is double nose bleed night)

I lay down next to my little guy

give him a kiss

then I just stay there

too tired to move

Well

Grandma had been thinking about going to a singles dance ( over 30's)

and she really didn't want to

Grandpa had been going to every singles dance available for......let's just say MANY years

Grandma was finally convinced one Saturday.....because I was away and she was bored I think

Grandma put on her most colorful silk outfit & headed to the dance

Grandpa says when he saw her everyone faded to black & white

and she was in

after speaking....I think.....where did that come from

then it comes to me

My Dad is a Southern Gentleman

he is full of what I would call Waynisms

Waynism:  words or sayings made up or collected from various languages and radio shows

for example:

Bothcha La Gupa : this is a word Wayne created and can mean anything at anytime

het liggen is altijd zonde : this means lying is always sinning, after serving a mission to holland.....Dutch still pops up now and then....he would use this anytime he thinks one of his kids is trying to pull something over on him

Orlando Muchwaylo Cada dia Corliss: Waynes spanish alter ego, he appears whenever Wayne is longing for Spain.....a place he dreams of visiting often

apart from these waynisms my Pa also loves a great fairly odd story

from creepy crawly

to quiet chrysalis

to beautiful butterfly

we will miss our free flying friends

I heard the Liam whispering encouragement to our winged charges

" fly away now"

"you can go"

"we love you"

"be safe"

our ever chatty Jaxson was at a loss for words

I was a little shocked at the loss I felt as they flew out into the world

amazed at how these animals are created knowing their purpose

each of these former caterpillars was hatched in a tupperware

grew, formed it's chrysalis in the same, and yet upon release each knew it's destiny

to fly free 

they didn't hold to us...come back around.....each flew away beyond the fence and into the world

I can't help feeling as though we did right by them

they were not hindered by our interest in them

they let us be part of the process and because we respected them we set them free to live

as they were intended

nor did we cripple them to the point that they didn't want to fulfill their purpose

so we thank them for letting us witness this truly 

miraculous transformation
